What Ploti is

Ploti helps you keep your own record of land: where each plot’s boundary is, what it is to you, and copies of its documents. It also warns you when a boundary you map overlaps land someone else has mapped on Ploti.

What Ploti is not

• Not an official record. The land register is kept by the Ministry of Lands. A Ploti record does not prove who owns land, and does not replace an official search, a survey or a registered title.
• Not a survey. Phone GPS is usually accurate to a few metres. Boundaries drawn on the map depend on the imagery and your placement. For legal purposes, use a licensed surveyor.
• Not legal advice. Overlap warnings and reports show what is on Ploti. Before buying land or settling a dispute, get an official search and advice from an advocate.

Your account

• You sign in with a code sent to your phone. Keep your phone secure; anyone who can read your messages can sign in as you.
• Give your real name. Records you share show it.
• You can see the devices signed in to your account and sign them out in Account settings.

What you record

• Only record land you own, are buying, have inherited, or have a genuine reason to record.
• Only upload documents you have the right to keep copies of.
• Don’t use Ploti to mislead anyone about who owns land, or to harass anyone.
• Your records stay yours. You can download all of them, and delete your account, at any time.

Overlaps

When a boundary is saved, Ploti compares it with boundaries other people have mapped. If they overlap, both owners are told how much overlaps, but never who the other person is. Ploti staff may review overlaps, for example to tell a GPS error from a real dispute.

Sharing

You can share a parcel, view only, with someone’s phone number. You choose whether documents are included, and you can stop sharing at any time. You can see each time they view it.

Paid features

Mapping land and keeping your records is free. Some features may be paid; their price is shown before you pay, and stopping a paid feature never removes your records. [PAYMENT AND REFUND TERMS TO BE ADDED WITH PAID FEATURES]

Our responsibility

Ending

You can delete your account in Account settings; it is deleted 14 days later unless you cancel. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why.
